It gives one a wonderful opportunity to witness and to grow deeper in one's own Catholic faith. I love that passage from Proverbs, too. We just have to trust the Lord (such a difficult thing to do so often!). And yes, pray, relentlessly.Pete Caccavarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17454406800958606929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199569135564129670.post-15822378366484244322009-08-25T14:07:39.657-04:002009-08-25T14:07:39.657-04:00'But for how long can we parents speak for our...'But for how long can we parents speak for our household? Most of us have families or come from families that experienced children reaching adulthood and leaving the Church.'

I used to worry about that with my girls. I worried about it A LOT when they first started high school. They seemed to question everything I'd taught them. But that is natural. Our children will question us, will doubt, and will look around; some may even wander and/or stray. But hopefully, if we have, 'trained them in the way to go, when they are older...' (cv Proverbs 22:6)

As for that sixth precept, I'm glad they removed that too. My sister and I both married non-Catholics who have converted, as did our Catholic first cousin's husband. The important thing is to never ever, ever, EVER stop praying for your children! St. Monica is the perfect example, as you said.

Trustful Surrender Pete! You're on the right track and doing all you can.

In Christ, bookladythe bookladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11263580845211880738noreply@blogger.com
